Women Empowerment, Social Entrepreneurship, Fair Wage

With a deep understanding of the crucial role entrepreneurship and financial freedom plays in women empowerment, Konservation established Infused Bath & Balms, a women-led social enterprise based in a small rural community in southwest Kenya. We work with local women to manufacture handmade natural cosmetic products, which include; soap, lip balms, and body butters made from locally sourced ingredients.

The enterprise works to meet a market need and empower community members from neighboring villages by providing relevant cosmetic artisan training and employing marginalized womenfolk, who work at our natural cosmetics processing plant. The women we hire earn a fair wage, obtaining a steady income and a new financial stream. We also work with local farmers from whom we source 75% of our manufacturing inputs, from their small-holder farms. Farmers grow and supply the natural ingredients we use in our manufacturing process.

Our unique business model is centered on creating a natural skin care brand, and building a self-sustaining local enterprise which benefits the community members in Nyamira. We do our best to support programs that will ultimately bring financial independence and freedom to local women.

With a booming cosmetic industry and a growing demand for natural products, we strive to supply markets across cities and towns in East Africa, and well beyond our borders.
